Safety protocols on-site and in drone operations

In every high-altitude intervention using industrial drones, safety is the first and most critical priority. At DroNova, all operations are carried out according to strict standards, with clearly defined roles, organized working zones, and safety equipment protecting both the crew and bystanders. Nothing Iis left to chance – each flight follows a procedure aligned with EASA and HACZ regulations, including risk assessment, zone fencing, visual signaling, protective gear, and two-way communication between the pilot and ground team.

Beyond execution, we support our clients and partners with safety documentation, site-specific consultations, and training for on-site personnel. A safe operation is not just a legal requirement – it’s the foundation of professional work with industrial drone systems.

Work Zone Organization and Demarcation

  • Before every operation, we define and physically mark a safety perimeter around the work area.
  • We set up warning tape, barriers, and triangular caution signs to ensure the zone is clearly visible to all passers-by.
  • Drone in Operation” signs are placed at key access points for additional awareness.
  • Staff and visitors are clearly instructed not to enter the active operation zone.
  • If needed, we temporarily block pathways, parking spaces, or entrances in coordination with the client.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Drone Pilot – responsible for flight control, navigation, and safe operation execution.
  • Remote Observer – monitors surroundings, people, and potential hazards, and communicates any changes to the pilot.
  • Additional team members (if required) handle logistics, communication, and on-site supervision.

Protective Gear and Team Identification

  • All team members wear high-visibility vests clearly marked with roles (e.g., “DRONE PILOT”, “OBSERVER”).
  • Protective helmets, safety footwear, and other PPE are mandatory, depending on site requirements.
  • Communication is maintained via walkie-talkies or radio devices to ensure constant contact between pilot and observer.

Safety Consultations and Documentation

In addition to cleaning services, we offer safety support to our clients:

  • Development or customization of safety procedures in line with EASA/HACZ regulations
  • Consultation on proper signage and zone organization
  • Training for client staff involved in or around the operation site
